Inositol, which is in the same category in the same family, is really useful also to decrease your androgens, and can help the signs of hyperandrogenism like hirsutism and acne. It can also decrease your glucose, having less resistance to insulin and having more regularity of your cycle. Metformin has a lot of side effects which make the patients often stop the medication, like abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea which, inositol has way less and is better tolerated.
